After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing of The Periyar Wildlife sanctuary by boat (optional). It is declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978 and famous as an elephant and tiger reserve. It is home to around 35 species of mammals like tiger, Indian elephant, gaur, sambar, wild pig, Indian giant squirrel, jungle cat, etc. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. Later proceed to Kumarakom by road – It is situated on the banks of the largest Vembanad lake in the state of Kerala. The backwater destination features lagoons, coves and a labyrinth of canals among a landscape of mangrove forests and coconut palms. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.
After breakfast, enjoy activities visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, where you can do boating, walking trail, Bird watching. Afternoon proceed for sightseeing of Cochin - visit Dutch Palace Museum, Jewish Street, Jewish Synagogue (closed on Fridays), St. Francis Church at Fort Kochi (one of the oldest European churches in India) and Chinese Fishing Nets. Later in time transfer to railway station or airport for your onward Journey.
