The state of Karnataka in South India has a rich diversity of flora and fauna. It has a recorded forest area of 38720 sq km which constitutes 20.19% of the total geographical area of Karnataka. These forests of Karnataka home to 25% of the elephant population and 20% of the tiger population found in India. Many of the fauna species found in Karnataka are recognized as endangered species and are still unexplored and new species of flora and fauna are still found. The state tree is sandalwood and state flower is lotus, and the state bird and state animal of Karnataka are Indian roller and the Indian elephant respectively. The Bandipur and Nagarahole national parks were included in the Nilgiri biosphere reserve in 1986, a UNESCO designation. The Western Ghats Mountains in the western region of Karnataka are a biodiversity hotspot. Karnataka has a wide variety of habitats that abound with different species of birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles and fishes. It is one of the richest states in India in terms of wildlife tour. The exotic fauna of Karnataka varies from the grand elephant to the magnificent tiger. The state is a paradise for bird lovers. It has several natural habitats and bird sanctuaries like Bandipur and Nagarhole National Park where large number of bird species can be spotted.
On arrival at Bangalore, you will be transferred to the hotel. Later, if time permits, proceed to visit Bannerghatta National Park which will take around one and a half hours from Bangalore. Bannerghatta National Park is spread around 25,000 acre and it is the home for Indian tigers including white tigers, lions and other mammals. Stay overnight in Bangalore.
In the morning proceed to Mysore. On arrival check-in to the hotel & relax. Later proceed to visit Mysore Zoo or Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden. Later in the evening, proceed to visit Brindavan Gardens which is the famous garden at the Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) Dam. Return to hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart for Nagarhole. Check-in to the resort / Forest Lodge on arrival at Nagarhole and relax for a while. Later, join wildlife tour at 4 PM and enjoy the wildlife jeep safari into the Nagarhole National Park. Stay overnight at the resort / forest lodge.
Early in the morning at 6.15 AM, after coffee/tea, proceed for cruise through the serene backwaters of the Kabini River on a motor boat viewing sleepy crocodiles and chirpy birds, intent on their morning catch. Later proceed to Bandipur National Park. Check-in to the Safari Lodge on arrival at Bandipur and relax for a while, followed by afternoon jeep safari into the Bandipur Tiger Reserve.
Today depart towards Ooty enroute visit Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary, Pykara Dam, 6th and 9th Mile. Overnight in Ooty.
After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and proceed for sightseeing tour of Ooty which includes Doddabetta, Botanical Garden, Dolphin Nose. Later, proceed towards Coimbatore for your onward journey back to Home.
