Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park in Indian which got established in 1936 as Hailey National Park. After India's independence the park was named as Ramganga National Park but later in 1956, it was renamed after Jim Corbett - the famous hunter turned conservationist and author, who played a major role in the establishment of national park. Jim Corbett National Park is one of the renowned Wildlife Sanctuary in India. Corbett National Park is in the foothills of Himalayan belt and has various geographical and ecological characteristics with splendid landscapes. There are four gates which lead us to Jim Corbett National Park and they are Amdanda Gate, Dhangarhi Gate, Khara Gate and Durga Devi Gate.
Corbett is a renowned wildlife, bird watching, walking / trekking and nature centric getaway. On arrival in Corbett, check-in to the hotel. Later (if time permits) you can proceed to visit Garjiya Devi Temple on the banks for Kosi River dedicated to Goddess Parvati.
Early in the morning, go for Jeep Safari (at extra cost) in the deep forests and vast grasslands of Corbett National Park. Dhikala, Bijrani, Durgadevi, Sitabani and Jhirna are 5 ranges. Based on area of interest, Dhikala (core zone) & Bijrani are the best for having a chance to sight a tiger. Sitabani and Durgadevi are good for Bird watching. Later in the afternoon, proceed to visit Corbett Museum. Return to hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.
The third day of your Jim Corbett tour starts with an early morning jungle safari in Jim Corbett (at extra cost). Later enjoy breakfast and checkout from the hotel. Proceed towards Delhi for your onward journey back to home.
