Kaziranga National Park lies partly in Golaghat District and partly in Nagaon District of Assam. It is the oldest park in Assam covers an area of 430 Sq kms along the river Brahmaputra on the Nroth and the Karbi Anglong hills on the South. The National Highway 37 passes through the park area and tea estates, hemmed by table-top tea bushes. One can even see the rhinos and wild elephants straying near the highway. Kaziranga National Park a world heritage site is famous for the Great Indian one horned rhinoceros; the landscapes of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes & shallow pools. It has been declared as National Park in 1974.
On arrival at Guwahati Airport, proceed towards Nameri National Park (open from 1st Nov to 30th April).
Check in to Nameri Eco Camp (tented accommodation). Stay overnight at Eco Camp.
Nameri National Park is located on the banks of the river Jia Bhorali on the northern side of the Brahmaputra. Situated on the foothills of the great Himalayas, it is another tiger and bison country. It is also famous for its sizeable population of the very rare White-winged Wood Duck. Birding is done while trekking inside the Reserve or while rafting (optional) down the Jia Bhorali River.
Today enjoy full day birding / jungle walk at Nameri National Park. Overnight at Eco-Camp.
Proceed towards Kaziranga. Later in afternoon go for a Jeep Safari. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Kaziranga National Park(open from 1st Nov to 30th April). - is a World Heritage Site, where more than 75% of the world’s total population of the great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros can be found. It lies on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River and is one of the oldest parks of Assam. Besides rhinos, the Asiatic Water Buffalo, Elephants, Tigers, Swamp deer, Barking deer and Hog deer can be seen. About 400 species of birds are found in Kaziranga National Park.
Early morning go for an elephant safari followed by jeep safari. Afternoon go for another game drive.
Early morning you will visit Dibru-Saikhowa National Park and Magori Bheel. Take boat rides (optional) on the Dibru River, go for jungle walk, bird and Gangetic Dolphin sighting. Overnight at the Bungalow.
Dibru-Saikhowa National Park - The forest in this park ranges from semi-evergreen to deciduous to littoral to swampy marshes with patches of wet evergreen jungles Dibru-Saikhowa is a safe haven to many rare and endangered species of over 350 birds and is a must visit site for target-list birders.
In time transfer to Dibrugarh airport to board flight for onward destination.
