Gujarat with four national parks and 21 sanctuaries is the dream of an explorer with a quest nature and wildlife. Gujarat possesses varied landforms with the dry deciduous forests, majestic grasslands, marine ecosystems, wetlands and rich moist deciduous forests. These habitats are home to rare wildlife. The ‘Land of the Legends’ is known for wildlife icon - Asiatic Lion that is found in the Gir Reserve Forest. The Found Horned Antelope and Black Buck are among the animals and birds that scintillate animal lovers and bird watchers who come in droves to have glimpse of them. The whale shark breed on the coasts of Gujarat is going to be a new phenomenon.
On arrival at Rajkot, proceed towards Sasan Gir abode of Asiatic Lions and considered excellent for bird watching, check-in to the hotel on arrival. The park checklist has around 250 birds and about 50 other species which are recorded in the grasslands along the perifery of the sanctuary. In the afternoon, go for Wildlife Safari at Gir National Park.
Today you will undertake safaris (morning and evening) for exploring different areas of the park. Kamleshwar Dams are home to Crocodiles. Lion sighting is generally good all through the year. Activities like nature walk, jeep safari, crocodile farm visit are also available (optional).
After breakfast, proceed towards Rajkot railway station or airport for onward journey back to home.
